Here is a link to a blog that I read more than I should. No it's not smut or Perez Hilton (more or less the same thing though, no?), it is just a blogger that annoys me.
Like annoys me in the, "I doubt we'd be friends in real life" kind of way. I read her stories and get annoyed, but I keep going back. And I'm not quite sure. Actually I am, but I will not put it in type written form because it is rude and she has done nothing specifically for me to blast her for no good reason on my blog. I digress...
So here is a permalink to one of her most recent posts. If you don't care about her wisdom teeth scroll down to the last three paragraphs. While she thinks its awesome the community is coming together, and is a sucker for hearing stories about a zebra nursing a monkey, etc. I think this is pretty effing disgusting.
And yes, back back back in the day there used to be wet nurses. But those people also rarely bathed because they would catch a cold and die. So yeah, times change and technology has gotten better, so get your tit out of my baby's mouth. M'kay?

Procrastination = Long overdue posts, and how everything in life can tie back to a Friend's episode
I have a HUGE thing at work that I need to do, but I am SO putting off doing it. So I thought, "Hey, why not post". I mean every time I see Greg the look of disappointment on his face can't be hidden. He says, "Oh, so you haven't posted at all this week, again...".
On Sunday I went to brunch with January. It had been raining ALL weekend, and Sunday was no exception. So as I drove home from brunch I busted the U-turn to take me to my casa. At the corner of the U-ey is a huge pecan tree that had a trunk/limb completely snap off from the trunk where the tree splits and branches out. I can only imagine the constant rain finally triggering something that was possibly inevitable anyway. It had fallen into the road and the two elderly people whose house it was were in he street moving branches and trying their best to cut off what they could.
I parked at the house and went inside to ask Craig if he had some time to help some old people who were clearly out of the league with this freaking enormous tree. He grabbed a saw and a chainsaw and I grabbed a pair of gloves and my herculean strength. As we were walking down the street you could almost see the relief on this couple's faces that help was on the way.
For the next 2 hours Craig and I sawed, chainsawed, and drug limbs to the curb. Ultimately we saved them a few hundred dollars by helping out, because they would have had to hire someone. They were so grateful that after we were done they offered to take us to dinner. Unfortunately we still had a days worth of Fall Housecleaning 2009 to accomplish, so we had to decline.
For the next approximately 24 hours I was on cloud nine. I felt so good helping my neighbors out and offering our services. And then I was reminded of the Friend's episode where [either] Joey or Chandler told Phoebe that all acts of charity and good samaritanship are all selfish, because of the good feeling you got afterwards. We do these things to feel good. And then she was all frustrated for the next few days because she felt good after every kind deed she did.
Although I didn't walk down the street with the sole objective to feel good, I truly just wanted to help some people who desperately needed it, I was on a feeling good high the rest of the night.
It felt like Craig and I were in one of those 'pay it forward' insurance commercials.

Best of Craig's List
Have you ever read the Best of Craig's List? Its on the left sidebar towards the bottom of any city's craig's list . Basically they are add/posts from any craig's list that people choose because they are hilarious. This one in particular caught my eye, and in my perverse world, made me giggle:

SO CLOSE
For all my life I have wanted to be on the National Hurricane Center's list of hurricane names for that year. Every year there is no 'Mandy' to be seen.
This year for the female 'M', they chose 'Mindy'. That's heart breaking.

I'm in a funk
I am in a bit of a funk these days. And unfortunately it's things I don't like to talk about and can't talk about on here.
i.e. work and relationship.
So bare with me, all will come to light, all will be told.

This absence has been brought to you by...
The letters P and L, for Pure Laziness.
All is well on the Lou front, I have just been too lazy to post of late. Sorry, I will be back as soon as I am inspired.

Ranch Style
I just found this website that has floors plans from 1950's ranch style houses. I found the one below that is probably a version of mine. Take out the patios, move the front door location, and you have my floor plan almost exactly. Kind of neat.
